RIOT IN OKO POLY
An ugly scenario has been recorded in one of the Federal Polytechnics in Nigeria. Riot in Oko Poly!
Federal Polytechnic Oko, Anambra State is one of the Federal Polytechnics in Nigeria. Yesterday as at 01:30 am in the midnight, some of the students of the institution reacted against the newly introduced system of writing examination in the institution, paper and pen.
When Machinep interviewed some of the students, they reported that they have been using cbt (a system of writing examinations with computer) until recently when the school authority introduced the system of ‘paper and pen’ as a substitute to the ‘cbt’ system.
In a reaction to this latest development, the Students launched a riot in the school premises demonstrating that they want cbt system and not paper and pen. In addition, they reiterated that this demonstration will be the last warning, if noting is done about it, there will be bloodshed in the subsequent ones.
The angry students were with their carbon papers as an indication that they do not want the new system (paper and pen), and they’d prefer their old system (cbt). On the carbon papers, they wrote;
“Give us Cbt, this will be the last warning to avoid bloodshed”.
The angry mob destroyed and set some buildings ablaze to show how angry and serious they are.
They went ahead to set fire at the Administrative block but luckily enough, some agents used fire extinguisher to quench the burning fire.
