ASUU Commences on an Indefinite Strike
The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU has considered to embark on an indefinite strike because of poor funding of the universities. ASUU therefore ordered its members all over the nation to commence an indefinite industrial action with immediate effect. ASUU Commences on an Indefinite Strike.
The indefinite Strike was followed by a meeting of all the members of the union on Sunday at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State.
REASONS FOR THE STRIKE
When asked the reason for the strike, Professor Abiodun Ogunyemi, the National President of ASUU, disclosed to reporters that the union has gone on strike because of the poor funding of the universities in Nigeria.
The president, Abiodun, therefore mandated all members of the union all over the various universities in Nigeria to stop their services with immediate effect. He went on to emphasize that the strike would be indefinite as there is no specific time for its suspension.
