The deceit of rented crowd has continued to grow in the world today, especially in the political system. These cankerworms have gone deep into the fabrics of our political and social system. Some people are exuberant others are not .95% of our political actors are guilty of the act.
In the past, people mobilize for ideology or love of a personality but today, the reverse is the case as many are rented and some are even forced and hoodwinked into joining rallies and protests as seen in recent times in IMO and other parts of the country.
Many people who are seen at rallies and political gatherings do not know the reason why they came but such persons can be seen shouting carrying banners and placards an interview with them will show that they are rented or forced to be there.
Recently in IMO state, we saw a show of who has the highest crowd as the warring factions in IMO APC wanted to impress and show the APC at the federal level the candidate that has the highest supporters on the ground. In a bid to achieve these, the political actors in IMO state were alleged to have quickly moved for rented crowds in other to deceive the party at the Federal level.
It was surprising after a due investigation that the people who came to support Mr. A were also seen supporting Mr. in separate rallies. The developers have made many wonders about the sincerity of the number of people we see in political rallies.
The Deceit of the Rented Crowd
In some cases, protesters today are also more of the rented crowd as many who are seen carrying placards with different inscriptions can neither read nor write.
Investigations have shown that the majority of the crowd are rented even outside the states which makes it more worrisome in cases when the sole aim is to show that the people of the state are in support of a course.
It is, however, not surprising why we see many people from a region denying supporting a particular course when the political actors and crowds have said and shown that it is the people’s mandate.
Recently, a governor in the south East alleged his anointed candidate is the mandate of the people and they also have all the crowd to back the claims.
It is surprising when a reporter conducted an opinion poll and discovered that the said mandate of the people is rejected and hated by 80% of the people raising the question of who the people seen in rallies supporting the said candidate.
Excellent encounter here
