200+ Christians Killed with Bomb on Easter Sunday
Easter Sunday is a day when Christians all over the world celebrate their master, Jesus Christ, as risen from the death. Unfortunately, during the course of this year’s celebration, not less than 240 Christians have been killed by bombing.
According to Police and Hospital sources, about hundred and twenty five Christians got injured as a result of the bomb explosions at churches and hotels in Sri Lanka, an Island country in South Asia, during the Easter service celebration.
At least eight explosions have been reported. Three churches in Kochchikade, Negombo and Batticaloa were targeted during Easter services and four hotels bombed. There is no information yet about the bombers.
According to Ranil Wickremesinghe, while reacting to this ugly incident lamented;
I strongly condemn the cowardly attacks on Christians today. I call upon all Sri Lankans during this tragic time to remain united and strong.
Again, the Minister of Finance, Mangala Samaraweera reacted by saying that the attacks seemed to be a “well-calculated attempt to create Bruhaha, murder and chaos in the Christian Religion… He therefore encourages Christians to be strong and believe in their master, Jesus Christ.
