Buhari Blames Schedule For Absence From Presidential Debate

President Muhammadu Buhari has given a reason for his failure to participate in the presidential debate organised by the Nigeria Elections Debate Group (NEDG) and the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON) on Saturday.

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was supposed to partake in the debate alongside four other presidential candidates.

However, three of the candidates only were selected for the debate partook of the event.

Those in attendance where, Oby Ezekwesili (ACPN Presidential Candidate), Fela Durotoye (ANN presidential candidate), and Kingsley Moghalu (YPP presidential candidate).

Although Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the PDP,  showed up at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja.

A place where the debate took place but he left without mounting the podium.

Atiku in his own defense said he was looking forward to challenging Buhari who did not attend.

President Buhari in defense of his absence at the debate said his schedules clashed with the event.
